When police officers encounter fighting teens in Washington DC, you certainly don't expect them to do what this cop did.

After breaking up an afternoon fight between two groups of teens, one female officer expertly diffused the situation when she approached the lingering students. Once the officer asked the teens to leave, Aaliyah [1] Taylor, a 17-year-old, walked over with "Watch Me (Whip/Nae Nae) [2]" playing on her phone. The officer laughed and promised that her moves could top Taylor's, and the two began to dance it out.

According to Taylor, the officer said that if the teens won the dance-off they could stay, but if she won, the kids would have to leave. "Instead of us fighting, she tried to turn it around and make it something fun," Taylor said. "I never expected cops to be that cool. There are some good cops."

The officer, who has been with the force for three years and recently returned from Iraq, told The Washington Post [3] that she didn't want to be identified because she didn't want to make the story about her. "It's kind of embarrassing that this became so big," she said. "This is what we do every day."
