98-Year-Old Mom Moves to Care For Her Son Because There's Nothing Like a Mother's Love

There's nothing like a mother's love!

Last year, 80-year-old Tom Keating moved into Moss View Care Home in Liverpool, England, as he needed some extra support and care. But it's not an aide or assistant who is helping him get through his days: it's his mom. According to the Liverpool Echo, Tom's 98-year-old mom, Ada, has recently moved into the home to take care of her son [1]. Tom has never been married and has always lived with Ada, so it only made sense that they'd be hand-in-hand taking care of each other — "they are inseparable!"

"I say goodnight to Tom in his room every night and I'll go and say good morning to him," Ada said. "I'll tell him I'm coming down for breakfast. When I go out to the hairdressers he'll look for me to see when I'm coming back. When I get back he'll come to me with his arms outstretched and give me a big hug. You never stop being a mum!"

Ada's got that right. The bond between a mother and a child is unlike any other relationship, and Ada and Tom can attest to that. The two look after each other, and their story is brightening up not only each other's lives, but the lives of the fellow residents in the care home.

Philip Daniels, manager of Moss View, explained how happy he is to support both of them in the facility [3]. "It's very rare to see mothers and their children together in the same care home and we certainly want to make their time together as special as possible."
