Sweet Couple Adopts 7 Siblings So They Can Live Together in a "Forever Home"

Dec 17 2017 - 12:15pm

Florida residents Sofia and DaShoan Olds just transformed their family of two into a modern-day version of the Brady Bunch cast when they adopted seven siblings at the same time. The previously childless couple chose to take siblings Necia, Eric, Erica, Zavian, Keyon, Dava, and Gentry into their Marianna, FL, home after reading an article about them on Facebook, the Today show reports [1].

When Sofia learned that the seven kids were living in three separate foster homes and wanted to find "a forever home" together, she instantly knew "it was all or none." Although Sofia, a social worker, and DoShoan, a math teacher, have made various financial changes since expanding from a family of two to a family of nine, their transition into newfound parenthood has been otherwise smooth. "They know the drill, they know the schedule, and they like the structure," Sofia told Today. "And they like the discipline and they help each other out."

And it looks like the kids are as happy as can be with their new home. Eric, one of the young boys who was adopted, said, "I never actually had a mom and dad under the same roof, but it feels great. It's like they're both half of something, like peanut butter and jelly."

Ugh, does it get any cuter than that?! Watch the heartwarming video above to learn more about the sweetest adoption story we've read all month.
