This Family Is "Speechless" Over a Grieving Mother's Random Act of Kindness

So today is my sisters birthday and when we went to pick up her cake someone had already paid for it. It was left with this card... my family was speechless and we just want to say thank you to McKenna's mom and wish McKenna a Happy Birthday. There's still good in this world 🙏🏼 pic.twitter.com/ev3IeQKu6q [1]

On his younger sister Madison's eleventh birthday, Kyle Jauregui and his family went to pick up her bright purple birthday cake adorned with Princess Belle, when they were given an unexpected surprise: the cake was paid for in full by a complete stranger [3]. The stranger, a mother grieving the loss of her daughter who passed away in 2008 at just 9 months old, wanted to honor what would have been her daughter's tenth birthday.

"So today is my sister's birthday and when we went to pick up her cake someone had already paid for it [4]," Kyle wrote in a tweet on Dec. 27 [5]. "It was left with this card . . ."

The full card attached to Madison's birthday cake read:

Dear Birthday Girl Family,

In honor of my daughter's 10th birthday I have chosen your birthday cake to pay for. Each year I do this random act of kindness [7] because I am unable to buy my daughter a cake of her own. Today is her big double digit birthday. Please enjoy your day.

Love, McKenna's Mom

The card also included a sticker from the MISS Foundation [8], a volunteer-based organization that provides services to families who have experienced the death of a child, which read: "This Random Act of Kindness . . . Done in loving memory of McKenna 'MBug' Jodell 12/27/07 - 09/27/08."

Kyle says his family was totally "speechless" when they saw the card. "We just want to say thank you to McKenna's mom and wish McKenna a Happy Birthday," he wrote. "There's still good in this world."
