This Mom's School Picture Day "F*ck Up" Turned Out SO Much Better Than It Should Have

Laura Pyle encourages her kids to be independent, so when school picture day rolled around, she asked her daughter Addison to pick out her own clothes.

"Addison's current favorite dress is green, the top half is covered in green sequins," Laura told POPSUGAR. "That is the dress she chose."

The mom didn't think anything of it. She also didn't think anything of the fact that, these days, most class photos are shot in front of a green screen, which means that anyone wearing the color green would quite literally blend into the background.

"Mom brain and a lack of coffee kicked in, and it never crossed my mind that maybe I should have had her choose a different color dress," she told us.

A few weeks later, she received an email with proofs from the photography agency. "I dropped my phone," she said. "I was laughing so hard I was crying."

She took screenshots of a few of the styles — including a wheat field, a country bridge, and several iterations of the American flag — before sharing them on Facebook.

"Y'all, this is the best f*ck up I have ever done," she joked. "There are 87 styles. I need them all."

Unfortunately, the agency won't let her pick more than one. "They said the way production was set up, it only allowed for one background to be chosen," she said. "I ordered the purple."

Thankfully, though, Laura took screenshots of every last background, and she might just demand all future school picture day outfits be green.
