As former kids of embarrassing parents, we have to say up front: we're taking the girl's side on this one.
Before her ninth-grade school dance, Beth Bagley specifically asked her parents not to chaperone. Clearly, the 14-year-old wanted one night to just cut loose with her friends. Did her parents listen? Kind of.
"We respected her wishes but did decide to drop in and see what she was up to," her dad, Judd, posted alongside a YouTube video he filmed of him and his wife approaching his daughter as she was dancing with her friends.
The 10-second video is nothing short of amazing as poor Beth goes from bopping around happily one second to violently screaming the instant she spots the camera. It's as if Beth — like many of us at her age — just knew her parents would pull something like this.
Actually, after watching this on repeat a couple dozen times — and seeing Beth's mom doubled over with laughter while Beth, with a rapidly forming smile on her face, grasps at the camera — maybe embarrassing one's kids isn't the worst thing after all.
