Grandma Magdalene Jourdan has been painting for 60 years and unsurprisingly has amassed quite a collection of paintings. She decided to have a show at her local library in Thompson, CT. The show, which exhibits 43 of her paintings, opened last night — but there was one unfortunate problem: no one but two of her sons showed up to the opening [2].

One of her two granddaughters, who were also unable to attend the event, tweeted a heartbreaking photo [3] of Grandma Magdalene, dressed to the nines for her event, but devastated because no one came. That tweet went viral, with thousands of new fans reaching out to ensure Grandma Magdalene receives the celebration she deserves.

Among the outpouring of appreciation for Grandma Magdelene, people have expressed serious plans to visit her show before it ends on May 25. The Facebook page for the event [9] is now populated with supportive comments and encouragement.
