A new HBO documentary will tackle the tough subject of adolescent mental illness. Airing May 7, A Dangerous Son primarily focuses on three families [1] dealing with children's severe mental health issues and violent tendencies, as well as the ways in which the system is not always able to provide the necessary help or treatment — even for those who can afford it.

"He needs more than a mother — he needs some serious professional help," states one mom in the documentary. In another snippet from the trailer, a seemingly exasperated 10-year-old boy says, "I don't know how to control my anger." Watch the sobering trailer for the documentary above.
