You Might Roll Your Eyes at Your Great-Aunt's Lawn Flamingos, but We Bet You'll Consider Buying the Zombie Version

Oct 14 2018 - 1:00pm

When I was a kid, my dad inherited a set of pink plastic flamingo lawn ornaments from an aging relative, and I'll be the first to admit I was embarrassed by them. He stuck a few in our front yard for the whole neighborhood to see, and come Christmas, he'd line nine of them up, two by two, and prop a giant inflatable Santa at the end, ostensibly turning them into pink reindeer. He even painted the nose up front to be red.

Eventually, I took a "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em" philosophy and grew to love the pink faux-feathered display, which is why I'm mesmerized by the Halloween [1] versions that have surprisingly found a demand besides me and a handful of great-aunts across the nation.

This creepy zombie version [2] ($31) includes a realistic sculpted detail of the bird's bone structure.

Flamingo Gnome Fodder

For those who don't discriminate among lawn decor, this cement display of zombie garden gnomes feasting on a pink flamingo [3] ($52) is the ultimate addition.

Skeletal Flamingos

This set of two skeletal flamingos [4] ($35) is sure to turn neighbors' heads.

Set of Two Zombie Flamingos

With this set of two zombie flamingos [5] ($24), you get one in repose and one actively feeding!
