A little advice from Klein: "Break the lunchroom routine and be a hero with this easy-to-make variation on a kid classic. Use whole-wheat waffles from the freezer aisle and real maple syrup. This sandwich strikes the perfect balance between sweet and savory!"
- 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon maple syrup
1 1⁄2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
8 frozen whole-wheat waffles
4 slices Swiss cheese
8 ounces roast turkey slices
4 lettuce leaves
- Toast waffles.
- Combine first three ingredients in a small bowl, and spread then spread the mixture evenly over one side of each waffle.
- Layer 1 cheese slice, 2 ounces turkey, and 1 lettuce leaf on each of 4 waffles; top with remaining waffles.
