Most family-centric holidays are hard on divorced parents, and Father's Day is no exception. So, when Jennifer Garner penned a sweet tribute to her ex-husband, Ben Affleck, for Father's Day, it was a gesture she certainly didn't need to make [3], but it was one that reminded us all how important it is to be caring coparents.
In the Instagram post, Jennifer shared a sepia-filtered close-up photo of Ben's face, likely looking down at his children, 12-year-old Violet, 9-year-old Seraphina, and 6-year-old Samuel.
"Our kids are lucky to have a dad who looks at them the way you look at them and loves them the way you love them, @benaffleck," she wrote. She included the hashtags, #happyfathersday, #threeluckykids, and #haveagreatday.
For what it's worth, Ben returned the favor with a sweet Instagram snap showcasing a homemade card from his kids.
In his caption, he mentioned the "three incredible reasons why today is so special" before wishing a happy Father's Day to "all the dads and father figures out there, and to the women that empower them to be the best they can be."
No matter how easy or difficult it's been for Jennifer and Ben to raise their kids as exes, their posts are beautiful examples of what it means to put your kids first and to treat their other parent with love and respect.
