It might be time to rethink your little one's breakfast routine — especially if it involves Kellogg waffles.
Kellogg Company issued a voluntarily recall of certain Eggo Nutri-Grain whole wheat waffles due to potential listeria contamination. According to the Food and Drug Administration [1], no illnesses have been reported at this this time, but 10,000 cases of the waffles are affected by this announcement.
While healthy individuals might not suffer from long-term symptoms, listeria can cause serious — and sometimes fatal — infections in young children, elderly adults, anyone with a weakened immune system and miscarriages or stillbirths in pregnant women. The company became aware of the problem during a routine test for potential contamination, and the recalled products can be identified from:
