The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department posted this powerful photo, captured by an officer's wife, of their little ones kneeling by their dad's patrol car in police "uniform." The simple caption read, "Praying their father and all police officers return home safely." And while the family decided to remain anonymous, they hope that their sentiment of the humans behind the badge [4] continues to be shared.

"As a police officer in Indianapolis, it does send a message of hope and a reminder of the attitude that the majority of citizens have for us, which is a supportive one," Patrolman Jim Gillespie, an IMPD spokesperson, told Today [5].
