Hillary Scott has been busy since giving birth to twins earlier this year. The 32-year-old Lady Antebellum singer recently welcomed two identical twin girls [3], Betsy Mack and Emory JoAnn, instantly growing her family of three to a family of five. Now, Hillary is opening up about the whirlwind experience [4] in an uplifting interview with People.
In 2013, Hillary and her husband Chris Tyrrell welcomed their daughter Eisele Kaye Tyrrell. Just two years later, the couple suffered a heartbreaking miscarriage [5], which caused Hillary to be more careful with sharing the news of her recent pregnancy. "We were taking it a week at a time. 'When are we going to announce this news?' Because I wasn't sure," Hillary told People. The couple ended up sharing the exciting news in August on Instagram with a video capturing the moment they told Eisele.

Though exciting, the pregnancy wasn't entirely easy and Hillary described feeling "double the fatigue." Hillary said, "I was sick in the beginning and it was always right around showtime so I had to take anti-nausea medicine that my doctor prescribed me, which thank the lord for that stuff." That being said, she said she "felt so much better" with this pregnancy. "It took me a while to fully recover after the miscarriage just because it was physically and emotionally [difficult]," Hillary said, "This time around, I slept a lot."
There was of course the initial shock surrounding the fact that two babies were on their way. "It was emotional, because I'm like, 'Oh, we're going to have as many babies in our house as I hoped we would have. It just isn't in the same timing that I thought it was going to be, but we are going to have our three," Hillary said. Her family does not have a history of twins, but Hillary felt as though her "double blessing" was simply "meant to be here."
Though it's definitely been a little more crowded in their household, Hillary and Chris are enjoying one perk of having had twins. "It's pretty cool we don't have to share. You can have one, and I can hold one," Hillary told Chris after they were born. Adding, "We can each hold a baby all the time."
