He's ripped tequila shots on The Ellen DeGeneres Show [1], and even starred in animated movies, but Liev Schreiber [2] will "never be cool" in his kids' eyes. The 51-year-old actor [3] recently sat down with Ellen DeGeneres [4] where he opened up about parenting [5] two very hard-to-please tweens [6]. "They're heading into that no-go zone for me. I don't want teenagers," Liev said before offering Ellen his 10- and 11-year-old boys. "You're never cool to your own kids. I don't know anybody who's cool to their own kids."
About five years ago, Liev told ex Naomi Watts [7] that he was committed to making animated movies for their kids [8], but even after starring in hits like Isle of Dogs [9] and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse [10], he realized he was virtually unable to please Sasha and Kai. Their hilariously brutal feedback consisted of telling Liev that he was "just a voice," and complaining that he played a bad guy. "I've accepted the fact that it's impossible. I'll never be cool to them," he said.
You'll always be a cool dad to us, Liev! Check out his full conversation with Ellen ahead, and gush over the sweet photos of Liev and Naomi's kids [11].
