Anna Poole, a documentary wedding photographer from the UK [1], seriously knows how to capture every single magical moment of a wedding — and not all of them always involve the two people walking down the aisle. As a mother to a 6-year-old son, she's a master at capturing kiddos in their prime. She told POPSUGAR how a little girl totally stole the show at her parents' wedding [2] by doing her thing front and center next to the DJ — and thankfully, she caught the brilliant moment on camera.
"The little girl you see in the photos is named Darcie and she's 7 years old," said Anna. "The photo was taken at her parents' wedding on New Year's Eve well after midnight. She just grabbed the mic and started singing."
And although Anna admits she has no idea what tune Darcie is belting out, the photo has certainly gotten attention. Anna has won numerous international photography awards for the shot, but at the end of the day, that's not what's really important to her.
"Capturing real moments and personalities at weddings is my favorite thing. I love kids, they're so wonderful to work with. The shots of them really make those special pictures so much more memorable."
