This Little Girl Asking Her Parents to Be Nicer to Each Other Will Melt Your Heart

Kids are often much more attuned to our adult feelings than we could ever imagine, and one wise little girl [1] just proved to her mom that she not only understands adult problems but knows how to fix them.

After returning home from playing badminton, Cherish Sherry could hear her daughter Tiana yelling at her to slow down as she pulled her car into the garage — a rack of shoes had fallen, and they were all over the ground. Her husband, Alfred, came out and the two had a little spat about the shoe rack being cheap and a waste of money, and Tiana caught on to her parents "not being nice" to each other. While the story seems personal and specific, Tiana's response to the fight could not be more universal.

In the video, Tiana explains to her mom in brilliant kid-talk that she wants her mom and dad to be friends, "I'm not trying to be mean, I just want everyone to be friends, and if I can be nice, I think all of us can be nice, too. I'm trying to do my best in my heart . . . I want you, mom, my dad, everyone to be friends — I want everyone to be smiling, not like, being mad."

Though her words may not be the easiest to understand (and some of them seem to make no sense at all), her message is clear: she wants everyone — her loved ones and the rest of the world — to always smile, and for everything to be as good as possible.

What a smart little babe.
