Disney's new live-action Aladdin [3] finally made its theatrical debut this weekend, and while there are certain aspects of the film that have been reimagined for 2019 audiences [4], one young social media star recently pointed out that there's one major plot point that still seems a little antiquated. According to Madison Jade [5], a 4-year-old who has nearly 200,000 Instagram followers on an account managed by her parents, Jasmine's storyline in the film — specifically that magic carpet ride with Aladdin — could use a bit of an update.

"She has to go by herself . . . to see the world," Madison says to her mom in a video. "Jasmine needs to go see the world by herself because Aladdin needs to just stay there, and Jasmine can just go by herself." Madison's reasoning behind this is based on two things, one of them being the fact that, realistically, there probably wasn't enough room on the magic carpet for two people anyway. The other reason is a little more simple: that women don't need men (or anyone, really) by their sides to go on life-changing adventures. "You don't need a boy to take you to see the whole world," she follows up.

I mean, the girl has a point, no? She also mentions in a later video that princesses don't need to depend on princes to rescue them, since, more often than not, they're pretty capable of rescuing themselves. Watch the full video above and see if you can make it through the whole thing without standing up and cheering.
