Meghan McCain chose to get candid about what it was like for her to lose a pregnancy [3]. In an emotional op-ed that ran in The New York Times [4], the 34-year-old co-host of The View shared what she's learned after suffering a miscarriage [5] and how she's mourning her loss. And after explaining in her vulnerable essay that she took a few days off work following the loss and expressed that no woman is to blame for losing a pregnancy [6], she took the time to thank her support system via Instagram.

"Thank you for so many beautiful and kind responses to my New York Times op-ed about my recent miscarriage, [7]" she wrote. "Ben and I are the luckiest, most incredibly blessed people in the world surrounded by love and support. My hope is by continuing to share grief and loss, and addressing these taboo subjects head on it will help people who have experienced the same [8] to feel less alone."

Although Meghan admits she was scared to share the news of her miscarriage with the world, she wants to encourage other women to talk about loss.

"None of us are alone in this. I was petrified to share my story publicly but I never, ever let fear dictate my life choices. I will always take the leap, I will always roll the dice," she wrote. She added, of her husband, Ben Domenech, "And to this man who loves my wild heart, has never tried to change a single thing about me, and continues to be the greatest source of strength, love and faith a woman could ever ask for — I thank God for sending you to me every day, Ben."
