After Cassie Lohrey's husband, Hospital Corpsman 1st class Ryan Lohrey, passed away just one month after their wedding in a tragic military plane crash in Mississippi, she thought all was lost. But three weeks after Ryan's death, Cassie got some good news: she was pregnant with her late husband's child [1]. This past Veterans Day, the soon-to-be mother celebrated Ryan and their baby with an emotional gender reveal that will reduce you to tears.
Local photographer Saralyn Johnson captured the big moment and posted it to Facebook [2], where she explained that word of the gender reveal [3] spread quickly and that Cassie received an outpouring of support. When all was said and done, 16 servicemen helped her shoot off confetti poppers to find out her little one's gender.
The photographer explained what a special moment it was for the family: "It was very evident to me what a special man Ryan was and how many lives he had touched," Saralyn said in her post. "Her home is filled with pictures of her and Ryan [5] and I have no doubt that this sweet baby girl will know just how much her Daddy loves her, even from Heaven."
