Mom Hilariously Embarrasses College Son For Not Calling Home

Liam McCarney may have thought that starting college last month a few hours away from home would give him space from his parents, but turns out, the 18-year-old freshman can't avoid his mom — at least on Facebook.

Annoyed that her son hadn't called for three weeks, Ann Pinto McCarney posted a video message [1] to him in the hopes that he'd recognize the woman who gave him life, fed him three meals a day, and kept him alive all these years.

"I'm your mommy!" the Pennsylvania native said. "I gave birth to you! Well, actually, I didn't quite give birth. I had to have a C-section to get you out. Big scar and hurt like hell. But that's OK. Do you remember . . . that was me?"

She proceeds to describe Liam's "daddy" — six-foot tall, dark hair with a little gray — in the hopes he'd remember how they'd both sign those private-school checks and drive him everywhere. ("Remember . . . there would be this lady who would drive you to karate and you were always yelling at her? Do you remember that crazy lady? I was her!")

But, halfway through the five-minute video, Ann, ever the helpful mother, gave her son the benefit of the doubt that maybe he forgot how to use the phone and proceeded to explain to him how to operate one.

Ah, the joys of raising kids into adulthood and then watching them avoid you. Well played, Ann! We've got a feeling you have an incoming call right about now.
