When Cara Armstrong first delivered her daughter [1] Mia, her doctor came in and said, "I'm so sorry." The mom, who admits she doesn't know what perfect looks like, but that "having the perfect family" was something she was striving for, finally understood that "perfect" comes in all shapes and sizes when Mia and her Down syndrome diagnosis [2] came into her life. In an emotional Teleflora Mother's Day ad [3] as a part of its "Love Makes a Mom" campaign [4], Cara outlines exactly what perfect looks like for her blended family of five, thanks to Mia.
"She is the glue that holds our family together, she is the light of our lives," Cara says in the flower company's [5] ad. "I think motherhood is about embracing who [your kids] were created to be. I was given this daughter to change my heart, and to show me a different kind of perfect."
