A photo of two very different-looking teddy bears has resurfaced on Reddit [2] for the sweetest reason. The stuffed animal on the right is in mint condition and looks brand new. The one on the left is worn down — its fur is matted, if not rubbed off completely, the bright red bow around its neck is long gone, and its body is misshapen.

Still, they are the exact same bear purchased on the exact same day by a very thoughtful mother.

"When my brother was born in 1985, my mother purchased two identical teddy bears," the Reddit user who posted the image wrote. "The one on the left has been my brother's for 30 years, the one on the right has been kept in storage for my brother's first child who was born today."

Does it get any more sentimental [3] than that?!

Turns out, not really: when commenters asked the Reddit user what his mom bought the day he was born, his response was what any younger sibling knows all too well:

"Nothing," he wrote. "This was for her first child. By the time she got to number 4, she was like f*ck it."
