Virginia-based mom Casey Teller knew from the beginning of her sixth pregnancy that she wanted to have a home birth surrounded by her family. Determined to make the first few moments of her new child's life special, she hired local photographer Rebecca Burt to capture every moment and midwife Jenni Rector to ensure the entire process went smoothly.

"The decision to have a home birth was easy," Casey told POPSUGAR. "Being in the comfort of my own home, surrounded by my family was the perfect way to welcome our sixth daughter. Having midwives there — who I trust completely — made the experience calm and peaceful. I was able to make all the decisions on where I labored and whether or not I ate or drank."

"We couldn't imagine them not being there."

And Casey's older kids were more than ready to help their mom bring their baby sister into the world. In fact, they helped catch Talullah Moon as soon as she made her grand entrance. "Our girls were so excited to be at her birth," said Casey. "We couldn't imagine them not being there. We've always had them with us for each birth, so it wasn't shocking to them at all."

As a mom to six little girls, it was extremely important for all of Casey's daughters to be there with her. "I didn't realize how important it was [for them to be there] until I started learning about birth trauma and the many unnecessary interventions that come with it. I want my girls to understand that birth can be a natural, wonderful experience and doesn't have to be feared. I want them to know how to advocate for themselves and how to trust their bodies and instincts when it comes to childbirth."
