For one mom, she most likely will never get to have a beautiful breastfeeding photo shoot [3] that she's always wanted or the nursing journey [4] that she envisioned during her pregnancy. However, that doesn't mean that she didn't get everything she's ever wanted.

"I do get this. I get a fed, healthy babe," she shared with Breastfeeding Mama Talk's Facebook page. "I will likely never have a freezer full of breast milk to share with my friends, because I just don't have the supply. But I do get to feed my son [5] every single drop . . . even if it's about a quarter of what he needs."

Sam was born prematurely with a tongue-tie and jaundice. He then had to be hospitalized again when he was just weeks old for a virus, and the medications his mom was put on "wreaked havoc" on her milk supply. "He won't latch because (turns out) I have flat nipples, so I pump . . . all of the time," she wrote. "Everything that could go wrong, did. We have had the odds stacked against us in a big way! But we still push on!"

This unnamed mom is beyond grateful for formula — even though some judge her for using it — but that doesn't mean that she doesn't still continue trying to give her baby breast milk whenever she can. "Every once in awhile, if my pumping sessions are lined up and perfectly synchronized, I get to save up three or four sessions over the course of a couple days and feed him an entire bottle of this liquid gold, and THIS is my happy place," she wrote. "THIS is my triumph, and I am not going to beat myself up anymore."
