"I'm sharing this photo because it's real," starts Amanda Bacon in a post to Facebook [1] that has been shared over 84,000 times in just 19 hours. The post, which features a photo of her husband holding their brand-new baby with Bacon in the background in a diaper, was shared to show some of the (humorous) realities of childbirth [2].

"Having a baby is a beautiful experience, and the realities of postpartum life [3] aren't spoken enough about. And definitely not photographed enough. Some people probably find this uncomfortable, but why? I seriously don't get it! It's probably because this part isn't talked about. We all should try and educate, empower, and embrace every aspect of childbirth [4], including moments like this. And do it while having a sense of humor."
