Zookeeper Used Her Animals to Show Her Baby Bump’s Growth in the Coolest Way
Instead of comparing her unborn baby's weekly growth to fruits or vegetables, one mom-to-be is tracking her little one's progress by relating it to something a bit more familiar: animals.
Jennifer Dew, who works at the Columbus Zoo, was having trouble visualizing the weekly fetus size comparisons that she was reading about so instead, this zookeeper turned to her animals for help. "So many fruits vary in size as individuals," she told the Huffington Post. "I've seen small pomegranates and big pomegranates."
During her pregnancy, she found an app that compared "weird but cute animals" to the size of her unborn child each week. This sparked Jennifer's creative idea to use the animals that she cares for to demonstrate her baby's growth in weekly pregnancy photos. But since these super cute creatures also vary in size, she decided to compare their weights instead.
As the weeks quickly approach her December due date, Jennifer has shown her unborn baby progressing from the weight of a rat at just 19 weeks to the size of a ferret at 31 weeks. Check out the adorable snapshots ahead.
