The first day of school is often a little overwhelming, whether your child's embarking on their first day or kindergarten or starting at a new middle school or high school. Emotions can run high and nerves can come into play, so it's not uncommon to see younger kids holding onto parents for a few moments longer after they go in for a goodbye hug. In a series of photos, Princess Charlotte sweetly hides behind Kate Middleton for a few moments before the head of the lower school — Helen Haslem — comes out to introduce herself. Then, in an endearing video shared by Kensington Palace, upon meeting Helen, Charlotte can be seen twirling her hair nervously, smiling, and eventually waving to the camera.
