Throwing a party for a tween is no easy feat. Many have outgrown extravagant Disney-themed bashes, but they don't want to settle for a more casual celebration. So, what's a mom to do? Think simple, like Madi's mom did for her 10th birthday party.

Rather than using a bright palette and cartoon characters, her mom went with subdued colors and a touch of sparkle. She also traded traditional party games for more mature activities, which included a sit-down dinner and outdoor movie screening.
