If you've looked at my hands, you'll notice that I paint my own nails. Once upon a time I used to go get them done, but now I have a near-8-month-old baby and beauty upkeep is limited to activities I can do quickly in the kitchen [1] while she's taking a weekend micronap (seriously, by minute 31 she's up and ready to go again). But there are only so many self-care things I can do myself. What I wouldn't give for some prolonged "me" time.
There's a spa in LA that's been listening in on my internal conversation, evidently. Spa Lé La [2] not only offers free child care (the second child will cost you) by CPR-certified nannies, but the whole place also seems to be centered on catering to tired parents. Double down on Spa Lé La's already impressive menu of typical spa offerings, and for just $40, you can head into your own space for a nap. Yes, you can leave your kid with a certified nanny and doze off in a nap room where no one can find you (well, the last part's not true). If that's not what dreams are made of, then I don't know what is.
Before you go shaking your head because you're not the type of mom who would leave her kid in some sad room to stare at the walls in order to relax, the spa owner completely understands that pressure. See what she's done to address just that!
