After having her son at the age of 17 and dropping out of high school, Joe Moreno's mom never got to experience the fun of a high school prom — until now. With his own prom approaching, rather than craft an elaborate "promposal" [1] for one of the students in his class, Joe asked his mom to be his prom date [2], and we can't stop smiling.
"My mom had me at the age of 17 [and] she dropped out of high school to focus on giving me her all. Last night I gave her the prom night she never had," reads Joe's now-viral tweet [3], which shares two photos of the pair. In an additional tweet, Joe shared adorable photo strips featuring him and his mom in a variety of poses [4].
"My mom was really emotional and loved the idea [of being my date]," Joe told POPSUGAR. "I loved being able to create that memory with my mom."
