About a year ago, Teresa Creech was called by the local hospital to photograph a premature baby [1] who was in poor condition and would not survive. The somber shoot, which also featured the baby's parents, Siggy and Mariela, and their 6- and 8-year-old children, stuck with Creech over the course of the year. She decided to reach out to the couple [2] on Facebook to say hello, when she was given the exciting news that they were 30 weeks pregnant.

Creech agreed to shoot their maternity photos [3], and the results are some of the most beautiful and creative photos we've seen — they're all completely underwater [4]! Along with photos of the mama-to-be in a gorgeous, flowing maroon dress, Creech took one very special photo with colorful ribbons to honor the baby they lost while celebrating their rainbow baby.
