Ayrton Little, a high school student from Breaux Bridge, LA, accomplished something few teenagers have done: being accepted to Harvard University at just 16 years old.
The high school senior decided to check his college acceptance status [1] online surrounded by tons of friends and family on Dec. 12, and frankly, we've never seen a celebration this pure in our lives. And if you think a Harvard acceptance is truly as good as it gets, think again. Ayrton's brother, Alexander, was admitted to Stanford University three days earlier. "Two for two" indeed.
Alexander explained just how hard he and his brother have worked to earn their respective acceptance letters in a post to the Love What Matters Facebook page: [2] "More often than not, we end up clocking in at 7 a.m. and clocking out at 7 p.m. Our desire is to do great things, but to also push each other to the point we have now reached. I've also been working hard in school all my life, just so I'd be able to make sure I could take care of my mother . . . My intended major [at Stanford] is physics, with a minor in computer science."
Seriously, could their intentions be any sweeter?
According to HuffPost [3], TM Landry College Prep is known for churning out Ivy League scholars. It's the third year in a row that a student has been accepted to an Ivy League school, which explains why the crowd was chanting "three-peat" in the video.
Godspeed to both brothers, whose passions for education will no doubt make the world a better place.
