Many a dad-to-be has brought home a box of crib parts with the fatherly intention of putting it together for his child. And a good number of them have left the project halfway through, when they've become overwhelmed by the endless instructions. But most dads don't look like Ryan Reynolds [1] as they lose their cool! For their cover story on the new dad [2] — he welcomed daughter James with his wife, Blake Lively [3], last December — GQ gave Ryan an Ikea crib and filmed him attempting to put it together [4]. The result is magical — and relatable.

When customer service asks him how they can help, Ryan deadpans, "Besides a slow descent into alcoholism, I'm just really having trouble finding all the screws and pieces that go with it. I mean, there's got to be over a hundred thousand pieces that came with it."
