63 Sam's Clubs Just Closed Out of Nowhere — See If Your Local Store Is Affected

If you shop in bulk for your family, we might have some bad news. Walmart announced it's closing 63 of its Sam's Club stores [1] across the US, some of which have already suddenly closed.

"After a thorough review of our existing portfolio, we've decided to close a series of clubs and better align our locations with our strategy," reads a statement in a tweet from Sam's Club. "Closing clubs is never easy and we're committed to working with impacted members and associates through this transition."

The closures have left thousands of employees jobless, and according to Business Insider, many of the stores already closed didn't alert their employees [2], who found out upon arrival to work that they no longer had a job. Ten of the locations will be turned into ecommerce distribution centers, giving the employees of those locations the option to apply for a new position, a Walmart official said.
