When mama-to-be Tanya St. Preux decided to stop at her local Target [3] to get a bit of shopping done she probably wasn't expecting to walk out holding a baby in her arms. But the world works in very mysterious ways, and believe it or not, St. Preux actually gave birth to a healthy baby boy right in the front of the store thanks to an off-duty labor and delivery nurse and a few Target employees.

Caris Lockwood saw that St. Preux was on the verge of giving birth in the middle of the department store and immediately offered up her expertise. And after delivering her son, who weighed 7 pounds and 10 ounces, the new mom expressed how grateful she was: "Caris was God-sent and amazing. She was sweet and caring and exceeded everyone's expectations. She went way over far and beyond," St. Preux said in a statement to Piedmont Healthcare [4].

Talk about a memorable birth story . . .
