Alexis Ohanian and Serena Williams are expecting their second child, and Ohanian is one proud papa. Moments before Williams announced her second pregnancy [1] at the Met Gala on May 1, Ohanian hinted at the news with a subtle clue: his beaded "papa" bracelet. "Details matter. Thanks, @gucci @yugalabs," Ohanian captioned a photo of the accessory on Instagram [2] the following day. "PAPA is the best title I've ever held: better than CEO, owner, executive chairman...."
Though covered by his jacket sleeve for the majority of the evening, Ohanian's bracelet was a sweet nod to the newest member of their family. The colorful bit of jewelry featured a set of black beads strung around the word "papa" spelled out with square-shaped alphabet beads.
The bracelet also featured dark-blue accents on either side of the word. While Williams and Ohanian haven't shared the baby's sex, the bracelet might be a hint that the couple's 5-year-old daughter, Olympia [3], is about to get a brother. While it's possible Olympia may have even played a hand in creating the fatherhood-themed accessory — like Ryan Reynolds's homemade jewelry [4] — Ohanian credited Yuga Labs with making the sweet design.
A few hours earlier, Ohanian shared his excitement for the new addition to their family in a separate post [5]. "Mama (@serenawilliams) & Papa love this parenting-thing, so we're back at it," he wrote. "and @olympiaohanian is gonna be the best Big Sister — she's been asking & praying for this for a minute." Williams also shared her enthusiasm on her own Instagram [6] account. "Was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the 3 of us to the Met Gala," the proud mom captioned portraits of herself and Ohanian dressed for the fashion exhibit.
