In an effort to celebrate inclusion, Mattel is ringing in the new year with long-awaited additions to the Barbie Fashionistas collection, and this might be the most diverse group of Barbies we've seen yet. The new additions to the Barbie family include a doll with the skin condition vitiligo, a doll with no hair, a doll with a prosthetic limb, and a Ken doll with long, rooted hair (so kids can actually brush it!). Overall, the Fashionistas collection now includes six different body types, nine skin tones, six eye colors, 11 hair colors, and 10 hairstyles designed with children of all backgrounds in mind, and we're so happy to see such widespread representation!

News of the dolls comes just a few months after Mattel announced the release of a line of gender-neutral dolls designed to let children see their identities reflected in their toys. With even more diverse dolls hitting the shelves every few months, we can only hope to see more representation in the near future.
