I've never really been the person to use mantras to pump myself up every morning [2], but after watching this sweet video of a little boy named Ayaan reciting his self-affirmations [3] on the way to school, maybe I should? In a now-viral clip that was even recently shared by Ellen Degeneres on Instagram [4], we see Aayan walking down the street, banana in hand, repeating, "I am smart. I am blessed. I can do anything!"

After his mom, Alissa, posted the clip to social media on Oct. 1. it instantly blew up, amassing 72,000 views. She shared it with the caption: "I taught Ayaan this positive affirmation on his 2nd birthday last year in the hopes that he would one day memorize it, understand it and use it as a motivational tool whenever he needed it. Well, he shocked me this morning. Out of no where he started repeating it, so I pulled out my phone. He ended (with enthusiasm) once we made it to our destination. So proud of the little boy he is growing into."
