Zaya Wade continues to be an empowering example, and she'll always have Gabrielle Union [2] cheering her on behind the scenes. On March 5, the 13-year-old sat down for an interview with former first lady Michelle Obama [3] to discuss the release of the young readers edition of Becoming. After the joyful and empowering chat, Gabrielle shared a few snaps (taken by Ayanna McKnight) from the special day on Instagram along with a message of support.

"Our 🖤 is everlasting. Our support is unwavering. Our fight is ferocious. Our village will always be here, steady and ready to nurture, protect, encourage and uplift," Gabrielle wrote. "We 🖤 you @zayawade and we are SOOOOOO proud of you!!!! Always."
