Hilary Duff [3] knows the pitfalls of online gaming all too well! She recently shared a hilarious text exchange with her 8-year-old son, Luca, [4] in which he attempts to shake her down for money [5] to enhance his Roblox game. Because kids are home without much to do, it's understandable that many have become annoyingly obsessed incredibly committed to pastimes such as Roblox and Fortnite.
"Text from my 8 year olds iPad ......lol 😂🤣😂🤣," she captioned the text exchange that she shared to Instagram in which Luca asks her for $4. "Went a litttttle crazy on iTunes last month." Given the replies to her post, it became instantly apparent how many other parents are in the same boat.
"Roblox is everything is this house. Butttt he now completes his chore chart every day for $5 of roblox money a week 🙌🏻 I'll mark that as a win for me," wrote one parent. Another commenter advised Hilary to ensure her iTunes account is password-protected. "Just make sure they don't know your cc information or Apple ID password," she said. "We learned the hard way . . ."
Based on Luca's text asking if it'd "been a month" since his last Roblox spending spree, it seems as though Hilary may have promised her son some sort of iTunes allowance in the near future, so we're sure this isn't the last we'll see of their at-home gaming chronicles.
