Jimmy Fallon and Lin-Manuel Miranda Talk Social Distancing With Kids: "How Hard Is This?"

Jimmy Fallon [1] is back with another episode of The Tonight Show: At Home Edition [2], and yes, he got some assistance from a very special crew. The late-night host shut down production of his studio show due to coronavirus concerns, but he found helpers in his wife, Nancy, and their two daughters, 6-year-old Winnie and 5-year-old Franny [3]. Here's something you didn't see on TV before: Franny climbing all over Jimmy's back during his monologue jokes.

During Wednesday night's episode, he sat down with his first virtual guest: Lin-Manuel Miranda [4]. They talked about the challenges of homeschooling their kids (Lin has two sons [5] with his wife, Vanessa) and laughed at the idea of getting actual work done while social distancing. "Every teacher should make $1 billion a year," Lin insisted, referencing a Shonda Rhimes tweet [6].

Lin's been using online resources to keep his sons entertained, including Mo Willems's superpopular "Lunch Doodles." [7] "My kids' doodles are legit good after following him," Lin said. "They are a master class." Watch the full video above to hear their whole conversation, plus get a special performance of "Dear Theodosia" from Hamilton. Remember: each of Jimmy's at-home episodes encourages donations for a different charity, and Broadway Cares [8] benefits from this one.
