Katy Perry [2] is a mama! The singer welcomed her first child with fiancé Orlando Bloom [3] — who is also dad to 9-year-old Flynn [4] with ex-wife Miranda Kerr [5] — a daughter with the most perfect first name to go with the last name Bloom: Daisy.
Daisy, which has English origins [6] and of course is the name of a gorgeous flower, also means "day's eye." And even though it's not the most commonly heard name, it remains fairly popular according to Social Security Administration data [7] — in 2018, it was the 169th most popular name [8] for girls, which is the highest it's been on the yearly list since 2011 when it sat in spot 167. Daisy's middle name, Dove, on the other hand, is a unique choice [9] that we're sure has a sweet meaning for the couple (or maybe it was chosen simply because the full name has a great ring to it: Daisy Dove!).
Katy and Orlando likely settled on the name Daisy before their girl's arrival, as in their birth announcement photo [10] — which was originally shared by UNICEF, since both mom and dad are Goodwill Ambassadors — all three of their hands can be seen, and Katy's manicure is front and center with a small daisy painted on her thumb nail. Adorable!
