"I love bold colors and modern style and wanted to create a bright, fun place to play and grow with my child past the 'baby phase,'" Kate says. "I started with the fabric. I wanted to find one fabric that just blew me away and work my room around that." Duralee fabric in Thomas Paul's forest print achieved the high-impact look Kate was going for. While the fabric was a splurge, Kate saved when her mother-in-law volunteered to sew all 22 yards of the fabric (and black-out lining) to create the nursery's curtains.
