In News Families Were Waiting For, Trolls World Tour Is Officially Available On-Demand

In news that should delight the many families trying to stay entertained right now, Trolls World Tour has officially arrived! The animated sequel unfortunately had its theatrical release affected by the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, but unlike the other movies that have been pushed back significantly, Universal Pictures instead decided to release it on April 10 as intended, except on-demand instead.

The unprecedented decision followed the news that Disney had added Frozen 2 to its streaming service three months earlier than anticipated for families currently cooped up. Universal movies that had already been out in theaters, including The Invisible Man and The Hunt, also started becoming available on-demand last month.

"Rather than delaying these films or releasing them into a challenged distribution landscape, we wanted to provide an option for people to view these titles in the home that is both accessible and affordable," NBCUniversal CEO Jeff Shell said in a press statement obtained by Variety.

For those looking forward to catching up with Queen Poppy, Trolls World Tour is available to rent for periods of 48 hours at a time for $20.
