2008 Emmy Awards: Best Dressed

The 2008 Emmys churned out a grand selection of gowns. But when it came to favorites, your votes went to either the light and lovely looks or the dark and mysterious ones. While there was color on the red carpet, the most stunning looks didn't need the help of a hue. My heart goes to Olivia Wilde in romantic Reem Acra, but also Debra Messing in dramatic Monique Lhuillier. Night and day, day and night. Which of these salt and peppered looks was the grandest of all?

I was watchin a show on E entertainment called fashion police where three villains were talking of how bad were dressed the people attending the emmy awards. These folks hosting the show were dressed up like 50's vacuum sellers. It's incredible how americans in the past 3-4 years have improvised an instant knowledge of how to dress up, without neither knowing of what they re talking about. It's really funny to listening to these mr.nobody talking of things they could never handle......Just to remind these folks Beauty is directly connected and related to your cultural background and the place you come from. It's not by chance that France and Italy are the reigns of style, fashion, etc. It's because these two countries are the reign of beauty since the age of times. Beauty there is in the nature, in the environment, in art, architecture and mostly in their culture... That's why italian painters are the best ever, because they grew up in a total beauty context. Italy and France are beauty-inspired countries. Unfortunately America is not connected to beauty in that sense. It's more a beauty of wilderness, connected to adventure, the fronteer, technology, power, military but not style neither elegance or fashion. Sorry. It's admirable all the efforts we make to imitate Europe but these efforts are mostly because of trying to intercept the fashion industry profits, but please stop doing it as we are just funny. More funny than anything is the failing attempts of building a world leading fashion industry by that trout of the vogue america director. She's a trout because the last thing that inspire her would be beauty, she s making fun of americans, making us believe we have a fashion leading attitude and role, but that's not true, that's why WE RE ALWAYS WATCHING THE SAME BAD CRAP ON THE RED CARPET, because you can't implant style within people even if they re movie stars, certain things you can only born with. When that black rapper will understand he has been fooled atound by her, she' d better run far away, cauz he's got a guns collection. Anyway, I am just warning people that a lot of lies have been told to americans and the biggest liar is this entertainment television who pays editors to make them smile and to express positive judgements to the worst crap ever made. This will generate a schizofrenic attitude within people who will believe to be beautyful and stylish but when they will realize this is the opposite of truth, people will get mad and crazy or simply will get smart and will drop this fashion illness.

Kyra, Olivia, Mary-Louise, and Brooke Shields - MLP was my favorite look, but I think Kyra looked best in her dress of all the women, and Olivia's dress is definitely my favorite. Brooke gets a mention because she looks incredible in that gorgeous, fun gown...

I loved Kyra cocktail chic look, how many times have we seen the full length ball gown on the red carpet it's refreshing to see something a little more risky. And it is the daytime Emmy's so it can be a little less buttoned up.

Hey gals! I totally agree on Christina! Based on the votes she didn't make the final five. A pity, I know, she would have added some color to this mix. xo

I thought Tina looked amazing. Her dress made her waist look so tiny and it really flattered her bust and fit perfectly. All of these ladies look amazing though.
