Best of 2009: Model of the Year

Models are a vital part of fashion. Without them, the clothes wouldn't come to life. The following five beauties made their presence known this year in editorials, on the catwalks, in ad campaigns, and at fashion bashes. Natalia Vodianova juggled being a mom, designer, and coveted model. Aussie Miranda Kerr took the Victoria's Secret world by storm. Lara Stone, last year's winner, made the cut again for continuing to woo us with her sexy, Brigitte Bardot ways. Hailing from the Dominican Republic, Arlenis Sosa added flavor to the industry. And how can we deny the adorable, American Karlie Kloss? Cast your vote below for the Model of the Year.

Natalia is my HANDS DOWN FAVORITE!!!! If you've seen her interviews, she's not only a wonderful mother, but a beautiful soul. Miranda's cute, Arlensis is sweet, Lara and Karlie aren't really that special to me... Natalia's the one who knows what a great opportunity modeling was for her, but at the same time hasn't made it the only thing going for her in life. To be fair, she is the oldest one. I just think she's still more beautiful than all the others :)

This is crap. Seriously, Miranda Kerr? It should be Lara in the lead and Karlie next.

miranda kerr has really caught my eye this year, and i guess i was late on lara stone because she didn't really get to me until this year. but when i recognized her i never forgot! so my vote went to her. i also really liked abbey lee, where is she on the list!

I had to vote for Miranda because I've seen her in LA a lot and she's always very nice to the people that do recognize her, and she looks beautiful without all the makeup and hair.

Obviously they are all beautiful women, but my vote goes to Miranda

I've noticed a strange trend on a lot of the "Best of 2009" polls. It seems as if commenters can't praise their favorites without belittling the other choices. It's so odd to me; I've never understood that kind of mentality. Anyway, I went with Lara. I really like her look.

Seriously, what has Miranda ever done? She hasn't even been in US Vogue.

I agree, Arlenis is great. Miranda looks cute, but a bit too commercial.

Arlenis is lovely. The others are the same old look.
