Alexa Chung Can Turn Even Breakfast Into a Cool Party

Aside from the revelation that today's birthday girl, Alexa Chung, wrote her entire book, It, via email (as she doesn't own Microsoft Word), we learned much from her friendly chat on last week's installment of Breakfast with Bevan alongside Andrew Bevan. The email dialogue to her editor explains the stream of consciousness tone of her first literary outing (which is on sale today), but to explain the moniker, Alexa clarifies, "That title was a joke, because I'm often called an It girl, so I've rebelled against that. It's just so obnoxious to be like, 'That's it.'"

Today, we got an extra bonus, and watched as Alexa read an excerpt from the book, which included nuggets like, "Instagram will not mend your broken heart, despite your best efforts to post pictures of yourself looking 'happy.'" Read on to see the two gab over cappuccino and English breakfast — and find out why Alexa's too busy for social media, her favorite question to ask people, and what her alternate career path could have been —  in the video!
