This Is the Sexiest Spring Dress I've Ever Seen — and I Need It Right Now

Apr 11 2016 - 2:20pm

I'm having a love affair with this green tie-dye dress, and get this: I've never even tried it on. It caught my eye the moment it debuted on the Spring '16 Altuzarra runway, its toggle-style clasps left open as if to say, "I've come undone." But you don't have to let your lingerie peek out from beneath the Ilari dress [1] for it to come across as sexy. In fact, I think it's even sexier when closed.

The crepe knee-length number — complete with pleating and a leg slit that draws attention to your strappy shoes — is making its rounds in the fashion world. Trendsetters like Leandra Medine [2] are snatching it off the racks. After I flipped through a recent issue of Porter Magazine to find the look staring me in the face, accompanied by a detailed guide from designer Joseph Altuzarra on how to master the art of "subtle sexy," I knew for sure: I need this dress.

I've never been one to force my way into a body-con mini on date night [3]. For me, to impress is to leave as much as possible to the imagination, to show off a detail that feels a little funky or fresh. Tie-dye is playful, but a row of roped buttons that run across the body diagonally — that's mysterious. I don't know about you, but that's how I do sexy.

Read on to see the latest must have on the likes of models and one editor, then join me in shopping it for yourself. Or scoop up a similar silhouette if your taste is a bit different. I'll understand . . . kind of.
