During an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace on May 5, Anna Wintour received an esteemed honor from Queen Elizabeth II. The Vogue editor in chief was made a Dame Commander for her renowned work in fashion and journalism.
At the ceremony, Anna wore a pink Chanel coat, nude pumps, and her trademark oversize sunglasses — although she removed those once inside. Her daughter, Bee Shaffer, was also in attendance. Following the ceremony, Bee proudly shared a sweet picture of her mom [1] and captioned it, "Dame AW."
In a hilarious turn of events, it seems like the queen was so distracted by the London-born editor's posh belted coat [2] that "she couldn't find where to put the brooch," Anna told the BBC.
Just last month, fellow fashion force Victoria Beckham [3] was also bestowed with a similar honor when she was made an OBE [4] (Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for her work in fashion design.
Look ahead for touching pictures from the very elegant ceremony.
